Romashka is a driving force in New York City's burgeoning gypsy and balkan music scene, playing gypsy and folk music from Russia, Romania, the Balkans, and beyond. Lithuanian-born singer Inna Barmash fronts a band nine wildly versatile NY musicians, denizens of fertile downtown grounds. At full blast, Romashka has a violin, viola, accordion, guitar, trumpet, clarinet/saxophone, tuba, and percussion. Based in New York, the band was born in fits and torrents in the fall of 2003. Romashka is featured on the fabulous Dawn and Drew Show- check out their podcast (also available on Sirius!)

While playing the track on the show, Dawn and Drew were "dancing and eating whoppers," and after the show divulged some medical advice with the listeners: "if you weren't dancing, you might check yourself, 'cause you might be dead..."

AND they pronounced our names correctly!

In related news, Inna and Ljova made a stop at WXEL NPR West Palm Beach during their vacation, giving an interview for Joanna Marie's "Classical Variations" show. Fun was had by all :)
