Performing on the bill are: PECTOPAH, a Balkan/American band which combines regional musical
styles with Jazz and other modern music; ROMASHKA, a Gypsy dance party band, and YASNA VOICES a Bulgarian a cappella women's vocal ensemble. The night will also feature artistic director Valerie Green performing a Belly Dance, Lydia Taranco performing Gypsy Flamenco dance and Ashley Smith performing a modern movement piece to Hungarian music. The show will feature the lively music of Romanian & Russian Gypsy caravans, the Eastern European Jewish diaspora, and New Orleans second line, which grew out of the funeral procession traditions of African slaves.
